Procedure

Prepare phase A using a suitable dispersion unit (e.g. Silverson, Ultra Turrax) to disperse the thickener. Heat to 75–80°C. Add phase B under magnetic stirring. After stirring for 5 minutes, homogenize for 1 minute using a suitable dispersion unit. Prepare phase C and heat to 70–75°C. Add phase C to phase AB at 75°C and homogenize for a few minutes. Cool to 40°C under gentle stirring. Add phase D and homogenize for a few minutes.

Properties

(25°C): Appearance—Ivory lotion; Viscosity—10,000–12,000 (10 rpm, Brk, RVDV-E, T-B, after 24 hours at room temperature, mPa•s); pH—5.5–6.5
